Hey PNMs!!!

Welcome to University of South Carolina. My name is Madison Radonis and I am the Recruitment Data Director for Alpha Xi Delta at University of South Carolina! I am so excited to meet all of you and for you to experience recruitment. It may seem like an overwhelming process, but let me tell you it is not. I know you guys probably didn’t expect your recruitment to be virtual, as we didn’t either, but I am here to talk about how each round is going to go!

Round 1 - Go Greek Round!

What to Expect: Round 1 is a little different this year because you are not going to be talking to anyone this round! Just expect to watch a video from all chapters at UofSC and later you will send in a video about yourself, but your Pi Chi’s will explain more about this when you all move in! In this round you will send in a video telling us about yourself. Talk about where you’re from, your family, your friends, things you like to do, activities you did in high school, anything! I know when I was going through recruitment I talked about how much I love to travel and all the trips that I have taken! Whatever is going to tell us all about YOU!

Outfit: Wear anything that shows your style! Comfy & casual

Round 2 - Philanthropy Round

What to Expect: This is finally when we get to talk to you all! Although it's not in person, it is still going to be the best experience! This is the round where we talk about our philanthropy, Autism Speaks! You will get to talk to some Sisters, get to know them and learn more about our involvement within the Autism Speaks community. Each event will last around 30 minutes.

Outfit: Wear a shirt from your Hometown, High School or UofSC. I would also say to accessorize too so we can see your style!!

Round 3 - Sisterhood Round

What to Expect: You will talk to our Sisters again via Zoom, but you will learn about the Sisterhood within Alpha Xi Delta! From sisterhood events to functions to what we value as a chapter, you will learn a lot! Ask our Sisters about what their favorite things to do with each other.

Outfit: This round is cute but not formal, so I would say wear a dress you would wear when going to lunch with your friends! Again, accessorize if you want!

Round 4 - Preference

What to Expect: Yay! This is finally the chance we get to meet you in person. Preference is a very formal ceremony where we talk in depth about our chapter and sorority. This round usually lasts about an hour. These could be your potential sisters!

Outfit: Like I said, it’s formal so do not show up in shorts and a shirt. I would say to wear a cocktail dress or a jumpsuit. Grab some heels and accessories and you’ll be good to go for pref!

Here are some tips I have for all rounds:

  • I know that technology issues can happen at anytime anywhere, but having a stable wifi can really help minimize this problem!

  • Download Zoom before recruitment. I know all of you have downloaded it already from classes and other events, but just make sure you have it downloaded on your laptop so you are ready to go!

  • A good thing about virtual recruitment is that you won’t have to be in the hot Cola heat! But just in case, have some things like a compact mirror, brush and your staple makeup so you can touch up after every round!

Lastly, I know Delta mentioned this in one of our other posts, but it’s the truth; BE YOURSELF. You are here to find your future Sisters and forever friends, and not being yourself will end up hurting you in the long run. We want to see you be your crazy, fun self! It will make the process so much easier. We also want to hear you talk! Tell us about all of your accomplishments!

We want to know all about you! We are all so excited for recruitment to start so can we meet all your amazing selves! See you in a few days :)

XoXi,

Madison Radonis
